Security is fundamental to every product we make.
We build security in layer by layer as standard.
Hinges
Our hinges are heavy duty galvanised T-hinges fitted externally using security âone-wayâ screws. T-hinges are extremely sturdy and do a great job in supporting the considerable weight of the doors. The security clutch screws used to fix the hinges can only be tightened, never loosened.
Locks
A secure long-throw bolt is fitted internally. Turning the key extends a hardened steel bolt across the back of the internally bolted door. The locks come with a set of 4 security keys and the key-holes are finished with a circular key plate.
Drop Bolts
On double doored sheds, such as all Classics, 4-6 bike Slot-ins or 4-6 bike Verticals, the left-hand door bolts shut at the top and bottom. This firmly secures the left door before the right-hand door closes, and both doors lock. We use 100mm heavy duty galvanised bolts.
Cladding
Timber cladding is firmly nailed on in three rows. Removal of it is made impossible by the roof overhang, which clamps the cladding in place around the top. Slatted cladding is given an additional run of lost head screws alongside the existing screws to avoid the prising off of slats. The doors are given an extra layer of fixings and are nailed through the back and front. In addition, slatted doors are given two rows of lost head screws.
Over-hang on roof: the roof extends over the doors by 40mm, which is enough to make it impossible to manoeuvre a crow-bar or similar tool behind the doors.
Inside
Internal second-line security is covered by our SecureBar, a 32mm thick galvanised steel bar which is drilled into the frame on the back wall inside the shed. It would require power tools to cut through it. The bar is easy to lock bikes on to with your U-locks, or a 2m or 1.8m long motorcycle type chain running through all the bikes inside (or best of all, a combination of both). The SecureBar is a standard feature fitted on all our sheds.
Optional extras to enhance the security of your shed even further
You can now add our these popular security upgrades at checkout:
Extra Lock
An additional lock is a visual deterrent and adds to the security of your doors. Both locks are keyed alike and evenly spaced over the height of the door.
Price: ÂŁ60.00
The extra lock can be added to your cart at checkout.
2 Metre Chain Lock
Internal second-line security is covered by our SecureBar, a 32mm thick galvanised steel bar which is drilled into the frame on the back wall inside the shed. It would require power tools to cut through it. The bar is easy to lock bikes on to with your U-locks, or a 2m or 1.8m long motorcycle type chain running through all the bikes inside (or best of all, a combination of both).
Price: ÂŁ40.00
The chain lock can be added to your cart at checkout and the SecureBar is a standard feature fitted on all our sheds.
Steel Mesh Door Lining
To further enhance the security of your doors, we can fix a galvanised steel mesh with 25mm holes to the back. This is a strong barrier that would require an angle grinder to cut through, and can be seen though the gaps in slatted doors, making it a visual deterrent for any thief.
Price: ÂŁ245.00 per unit Please note price is per unit – please order one for every bike shed and one per ‘add-on’ unit you wish to secure.
The steel mesh can be added to your cart at checkout.
Alarm – Movement Activated
Bike thieves donât like to draw attention to themselves, so this loud 125db alarm is just the thing to send them running. Fitted inside your shed, itâs movement-activated and armed/disarmed using a simple remote control key fob. Adding a small sign to the front of your shed will let would-be intruders know thereâs an alarm inside.
Price: ÂŁ75.00
The alarm can be added to your cart at checkout.
Ground Anchors
In some cases, insurers require an angle grinderâresistant anchor or a Sold Secure Goldârated anchor to meet policy conditions for high-value bikes. This installation helps you meet those requirements by providing a robust, permanent fixing point inside your shed.
In addition to the Secure Bar, we can install high-security ground anchors, including angle grinderâresistant options such as the Hiplok AX1000 or the Oxford Beast Ground Anchor.
For a fitting fee of ÂŁ85.00 per anchor, we will:
Cut a neat, circular opening in the timber floor of your shed
Securely mount the anchor into the concrete base beneath
Ensure a clean, professional finish with minimal disruption
If you already have a specific anchor in mind, just let us know â weâre happy to accommodate most models.
Important: A concrete base is required for anchor installation. If your shed is not being installed onto a concrete slab, we will not be able to fit the anchor, as the supplied fixings rely on a solid concrete foundation.
You will need to purchase your own anchor and have it available on the day of installation. The fitting fee will be invoiced separately once the service has been requested. Please notify us after placing your shed order so we can schedule the anchor installation with your shed installation.
