Our sheds are fortified with advanced security features. Externally, they utilize galvanised T-hinges with tamper-proof screws. Internally, a robust long-throw bolt lock with hardened steel and four keys secures the door. Double-door models have 100mm galvanised drop bolts for additional safety.
The sheds are covered with triple-layered timber cladding, shielded by a roof overhang to deter forced entry. Inside, a 32mm galvanised steel SecureBar allows for secure bike storage using locks or chains.

If you want easy access and a simple wooden bike shed, the Slot-in Bike Shed is designed for you. The Slot-in is one of the most practical garden bike sheds available, combining fast slot-in access with reliable weather protection and high-security fittings.
The front-loading design means you can glide bikes straight in and out without lifting or manoeuvring handlebars awkwardly. Each Slot-in Bike Shed is built to fit your space and storage needs. Choose the size, depth, and finish that match your garden.
All units come with our SecureBar system, letting you D-lock bikes internally for peace of mind.

Is the Slot–in Bike Shed Right for Me?
The Slot-In Bike Shed suits anyone who wants quick and simple bike storage. The front-facing slot design allows you to roll your bike straight inside and access it individually. This is ideal for heavier bikes or daily riders.
Due to its slightly taller front height, it may be more visible in a small front garden. If needed, we can reduce the front height by 100 mm to help it sit more discreetly in a tighter space.
We often reduce the height of our Slot-in design by 100mm (at the front) if the layout better suits your front garden than our Classic.
What Size Are Our Slot-In Bike Sheds?
The Slot-In Bike Shed measures 1.5m in Height (front), 1.3m in Height (back), 2m in Depth, and the width varies depending on how many bikes you need to store.
- 1 bike: 0.86m
- 2 bikes: 1m
- 3 bikes: 1.4m
- 4 bikes: 1.8m
- 5 bikes: 2.2m
- 6 bikes: 2.6m
Roof overhangs should also be accounted for; these are 40mm on each side and front, plus 80mm of gutter on the rear.
Be sure to double-check the size of your space before ordering to ensure the shed fits.
How Durable Are Our Slot-In Bike Sheds?
These sheds are built for long-term durability. The cladding is 20 mm timber that naturally ages to a silvery-grey finish. The roof is reinforced and strong enough to walk on. Double-opening doors and heavy-duty fixings are included as standard, along with an internal SecureBar for locking your bikes inside.
What Add-Ons Are Available With the Slot-In Bike Shed?
You can add bin storage or log storage to either side of your Slot-In shed.
- Bin storage keeps bins organised in an open-topped enclosure next to the shed.
- Log storage provides a ventilated, slatted area for keeping firewood dry and neatly stored.
If you are looking for something with more flexibility, then our Classic Bike Shed might be for you. For something totally unique, you may want to consider sending an enquiry to our bespoke bike shed service.
How Secure Is the Slot-In Bike Shed?
Security is built into every part of the Slot-In design. Key features include:
- Galvanised T-hinges fixed with security screws
- Internal 200 mm bolts on the secondary door
- A long-throw bolt that locks behind the door frame
- Reinforced cladding fixed in multiple rows
- The SecureBar, a heavy steel tube built into the rear wall for attaching D-locks or chains
These layers work together to resist prying, silent entry and forced attacks.
How Does the Visualiser Tool Work?
Click “Design your bike shed now” on the website to open the visualiser. You can choose capacity, cladding and finishes, then preview the shed in your garden using the AR option. Share the design link with others if you need a second opinion before ordering.
If you need a second opinion, whether your partner, family member or friend, simply click the share button and send a version of the final configuration to whoever you wish to see it.

How Easy is it to Self-assemble Your Slot in a Garden Bike Shed?
Self-assembly is straightforward for customers with a bit of DIY experience. Each shed comes with clear instructions, and most components are pre-built. If you would like to review the PDF instructions before deciding, we can send them on request.
What Is the Lead Time on Ordering Our Slot-In Sheds?
Lead times are typically 8 to 10 weeks from the date of order. During busy months, this may extend to 12 weeks as each shed is handmade in our workshop. You will receive a confirmation email with an estimated delivery or installation date.
Please note that the lead time varies depending on the time of year; during periods of higher demand, it can extend to 12 weeks.
Do Our Slot-In Sheds Come With a Guarantee?
Yes. If you experience an issue with your shed, send us photos, and we will arrange a suitable date to resolve it. For self-assembled units, problems may be caused by incorrect installation, and we will support you with troubleshooting by email or phone. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for full details.
Can I Make a Bespoke Order?
Yes. We can create Slot-In sheds in custom widths, depths or finishes. Email images, measurements and your postcode or complete the bespoke enquiry form. Once we have the details, we will provide a free quotation and installation timeframe.
Can the Slot-In Bike Shed Store Electric Bikes?
Of course. The Slot-In design is perfect for electric bikes as it avoids the need for lifting. Many customers size up by one bike space if they want extra room for chargers, accessories or helmets. Just remember to take your battery inside to charge between uses.
What Surface Should I Install the Slot-In Shed On?
A level and solid surface, such as concrete, paving or decking, is recommended. This prevents moisture build-up below the shed and ensures long-term stability. Are Slot-In Bike Sheds Suitable for Front Gardens?
They can be, provided the height does not exceed the boundary limits of your garden. If you have a low hedge or fence, we can reduce the height by 100 mm. For very small front gardens, our Classic model may be a better fit.
How Weatherproof Is the Slot-In Shed?
The wooden bike sheds are built with pressure-treated C24 timber, galvanised fittings and a water-resistant roof finish. Each element is designed to withstand rain, wind and seasonal changes, keeping your bikes sheltered all year.
Do Slot-In Bike Sheds Require Maintenance?
Routine maintenance is minimal. We recommend applying a timber treatment every few years to preserve the colour and grain. It may also be beneficial to clear any debris from the roof and guttering at occasional intervals.
Can I Add Shelving or Interior Storage?
Yes. Many customers add Plus Height to create space above the bikes for shelves or accessory storage. Built-in side storage options can also provide extra room for tools or outdoor equipment.
